About The Island

York Bay Tour

Yorke Bay is a bay on East Falklands in the Falkland Islands. It is located north of Port Stanley Airport, four miles to the northeast of the capital city of Stanley, on a peninsula connected to the mainland by the boxer bridge and a narrow isthmus known as ‘The Neck’. The Yorke Bay is a home to a colony of Gentoo penguins and a good spotting ground for dolphins, seals and King Penguins.

Gypsy Cove Tour

At just 6.5 km (4 miles) from Stanley, Gypsy Cove is the most accessible wildlife site from the capital city. It is part of the Cape Pembroke peninsula which is a National Nature Reserve. The small bay with its white sand beach is sheltered from prevailing winds. Magellanic penguins, also known as Jackass because of their braying sounds, breed here, nesting underground in burrows. Other birdlife includes black-crowned night-herons, oystercatchers, long-tailed meadowlark, two-banded plovers, Falklands flightless steamer duck, upland and kelp geese. Sea lions occasionally visit. On nearby Ordnance Point are the remains of World War Two guns.

Bertha’s Beach Tour

Bertha’s Beach stands out from other beach destinations due to its untouched beauty and remote location. Unlike popular tourist spots, this beach remains unspoiled by crowds and commercialisation. The pristine white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and breathtaking coastal cliffs make it a picture-perfect destination for photographers and nature enthusiasts.

One of the most unique aspects of Bertha’s Beach is its diverse wildlife. The Falkland Islands are home to a wide range of marine and bird species, including penguins, seals, albatrosses, and dolphins. Visitors to Bertha’s Beach can witness these incredible creatures up close and personal, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
